Hello everyone!
I'm Mimi Jung and I'm a senior at the MacDuffie School. I'm taking Programming first semester, because I thought it would be a good introductory course to get me familiarized with coding in general. I am looking to major in Engineering in college, probably Biomedical or Mechanical. I'm thinking that this class would both broaden my options for when I decide for real what I want to do with my life, and also make it easier for when I do encounter coding in my future.
I am also taking this class because I needed another class to meet the 5 class minimum, alike many of my peers. One of my main goals for this class is to understand the basics and foundations of coding. I just want to find it easier when I will eventually encounter it irl.
Although we only did one class actually coding, on https://pythonroom.com, I am already pretty interested in how coding works. I like the idea that with these simple tools, you can manipulate and create basically anything that you want. I did encounter some problems with the extremely detailed nature of coding. For example, on one exercise, I forgot to put the period in quotes, and it took like 10 minutes to notice why the program wasn't working.
I have high hopes for this class! I hope I won't fail :)
I'm excited!
